What you get
Workspaces
One folder, one set of tabs. Switch projects without losing shells, and get the same layout back after a restart.
Agent-aware panes
A notification when Claude Code finishes or needs you. Model, context and state in every pane header.
claude --resumeprefilled after a restart.Splits and windows
Split panes and windows, drag tabs and panes between them, send a tab to its own window on another display.
Usage and keep awake
Session and weekly limits in the bottom bar. A ☕ switch that keeps the Mac awake through long runs.
Korean input
IME composition, shortcuts in Hangul mode and Korean filenames all handled. Built by a Korean developer who uses it every day.
Nothing extra
No accounts, no telemetry, no built-in browser. A 4.6 MB download and eight config keys.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes. No account, no subscription.
What does it need?
An Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 13 or later. There is no Intel build.
What does it change in Claude Code?
With notifications on, it adds five hooks to ~/.claude/settings.json, backs the file up first, and removes them when you turn notifications off. At launch it wraps the status line command to read usage. Everything it writes is listed in Privacy and uninstall.
Is it open source?
Not yet. Deftty ships as a notarized binary.
Codex CLI?
Coming next. Any CLI runs as usual in the meantime.
